Having studied music locally, Audrey, at the age of eighteen, entered the Royal College of Music to study piano and violin and whilst in London did a considerable amount of ensemble work.

On her return to Cleethorpes, she taught piano privately and was an accompanist in various local schools. Also, for a period of ten years, Audrey directed a junior choir at the Laceby Road Methodist Church in Grimsby.

Accompanying is Audrey’s first love in music and she enjoys her role as accompanist with the Orpheus Male Voice Choir, a position she has held since 1981. During this time she has been privileged to accompany several musical celebrities Including, John Lawrenson, Christopher Maltman, Linda Strachan and Frances Brookes. Audrey is also one of the official accompanists at the Cleethorpes Festival of Music and Words, a position she has fulfilled and enjoyed since 1975.
