January 2020

Members and guests enjoy their Annual Lunch at the Cleethorpes Golf Club. Howard Mills entertained us with his recolections of his early life and his experiences as a youth leader and the characters he has met as a result of that experience. His experiences are so interesting I am sure he could have gone on into the night if time allowed.

April 2018

Members of the Orpheus Male Voice Choir meet for Sunday Lunch at the Crown & Anchor Inn at Tetney Lock. An excellent meal was enjoyed by all in attendance.

October 2017

Its our annual walking weekend time again. This time we opted to explore the Coastal Path in North Norfolk around Hunstanton. Again we are a mixture of walkers and those who want to explore the area from the comfort of their cars.

The first days walk started at our hotel, Caley Hall, and proceded east on the Coastal Path to Thornham. A distance of 6.5 miles, although we made it into a 8 mile walk by using the beach path too far. The diversion was interesting as we walked by what the walkers nicknamed 'The Blue Lagoon'. As we walked the wind picked up the gusts made walking interesting.

The second days walk commenced with less numbers as the wind has risen to make walking in the open unpleasant (it was the weekend of huricanes Irma and Brian). We Coast Hopper bus to Burnham Staithe and set of along the flood defence towards Wells by the Sea. The coastal path followed the flood defence and then joined the beach after about 2 miles. The walk along ther beach was interesting with a few walking parties and families along the way. The sand being whipped up by the wind to give a feel of being sand blasted. At Wells by the Sea the Coast Hopper was boardeed for the return to Old Hunstanton.

October 2016

The Orpheus Male Voice Choir, their wives and supporters enjoyed a weekend away in Derbyshire in October 2016.
Billed as a walking weekend but also enjoyed by those non- walking members who just wanted to enjoy a visit to
Derbyshire to view the spectacular scenery, visit stately homes, pretty villages and partake of the retail therapy
available in the area. We all stayed at The Yorkshire Bridge Hotel near Lady Bower Dam where we enjoyed their excellent
cuisine and accommodation. The owners and staff made us very welcome. The overall impression was so  good that many
wish to repeat the experience. The photographs below record some of the experiences over the weekend.
The OMVC is not just a quality singing group but we enjoy many social events together at which all are welcome.
